The Adventure Begins...

Two posts in one day, aren't you guys lucky! We arrived safely (though it was a rather bumpy ride) and grabbed a taxi to our hotel. Budapest is known for being cheap, and to start off our money saving voyage we paid the equivalent of £20 for a 45 minute cab journey. You don't get that at home!

Once our prized possessions were carefully strewn across our bedroom in organised chaos, we grabbed our cameras and hit the city. First we took a stroll down the Danube river, heading in the direction of food.

Now I had been told about a gorgeous little restaurant that served food that was to die for. So of course, when in Budapest... have Pizza! (Were having traditional food tomorrow night and have been travelling all day so give us a break).

The restaurant was called Trattoria Pomo D'Oro, and it was honestly the best pizza I have ever tasted! I had a Pizza DOP, which was basically a posh margarita with buffalo mozzarella, and I could have easily eaten a second one! Gemma had a traditional margarita pizza with another fancy name that we couldn't understand.

For dessert we shared a Sette Veli Torta which was honestly so good I wanted to take the chef home with me and force him to make it for me for the rest of my life!

The bestest part about the meal... The price! It only cost us 8780Ft which is the equivalent of £25. Our second Budapest Bargin of the day!

To walk off all the calories we consumed, we went for a stroll across the Budapest bridge, and then happened upon a huge Ferris wheel, creatively called: The Budapest Eye.

Once back on the ground, we sat around the water polo pools and fell in love, in more ways than one, with the city.

On return to the hotel, we paid our respects at The Shoes on the Danube Memorial. The memorial is in tribute to all the Jews who were shot by Arrow Cross militiamen between 1944 and 1945. we sat by the river for a while, soaking in the atmosphere and watching the sun set.

I'm now currently sat in my hotel room writing to you all and drinking sparkly water, (which we didn't mean to buy. We thought the S stood for Spring. Easy mistake to make I guess).

Now some of you may be wondering how I went about deciding my outfit choice for today. Well, I wanted to be comfy, as I was travelling, but also new it was going to be hot when I got here. So here is my outfit lowdown:

Jacket - Monki

Shirt - Monki

Shorts - H&M

Frilly Socks - Primark

Shoes - Converse

Sunglasses (not a clue, I've had them for ages)

That's it folks, My first day is officially complete and I am off to bed (on one and a half pilliows, I seem to be missing the other half of one). I'm an hour ahead of you lovely people back home so I'm allowed to be tired...

Stay Snazzy!

Bxx
